Indigenous Peoples' Day

WSMC Admin

"Use your gifts for good, honor those who love you, and never underestimate the quiet moments and simple everyday decisions – these are the details that build us into the people we are meant to be." -Tori McConnell, Miss Indian World 2023

WSMC was privileged to welcome Tori McConnell, MIW 2023 to campus to address the children at our Monday morning assembly in honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day. After the assembly, she visited the preschoolers and spoke with Class 7 and 8 about California Native history. Directly following, every class got to participate in an interactive, Indigenous-led workshop with the Tribal EcoRestoration Alliance (TERA) out of Lake County.

We are left with feelings of deep gratitude for the sharing that took place today and for this beautiful community in which we live.
