Planning began for the office move back in January 2016. We had been thinking about it back in the summer of 2015 and almost thought we'd tackle it then, but summers here in the WSMC front office are pretty hectic preparing for the next school year. So, we put it on the back burner for a short time. Once the decision was made, it was made. We started prepping the new building for our move. We had a builder come in and put up some walls for a private office for our Administrator, and it was insulated and equipped with lots of working outlets. He also made sure we had a dedicated circuit for our new copier. I spent hours on the phone with ATT to get a new phone system with a new and upgraded internet modem scheduled to be installed in June for the actual move. In April, we had a workday at the school, and some parents were tasked with priming the walls to get them ready for their paint. The paint on the walls are not in the traditional Waldorf technique, but we based our colors on a painting titled "Baulder and the Way of Flowers." We were inspired by the burnt orange and plum colors. So, our accent walls are orange, while the rest of the office is painted in a beautiful grey. We chose to highlight our doors in a bright plum color. Everything in the new office has come together and it's looking better and better everyday. If it wasn't for our dedicated parents helping us on one day early in their summer break, we would probably still be moving piece by piece today. Now we are working to make sure all of our tech is in good working order, and we are wrapping up little parts of the move daily. Overall, we are happy in our new office spaces and we are so excited for everyone to see it on the first day of school.
